This is another shot of Sintra in September 2001. There is a castle (Pena Castle) which, on a sunny day is a spectacularly colourful piece of architecture. I don’t think that there is any defensive value in creating a multi-coloured structure such as this. However, it is quite striking. On a foggy day, it is a haunting-looking building. These flowers were growing outside of the castle, and the image with the castle looming in the background was too tough to resist. A 1600 ISO experiment that seemed to work.
