Youth is one of the greatest enablers of the spreading of information between cultures. With larger schools, you usually have a diverse cross-section of people. With travel being more accessible and folks moving around, this diversity simply increases. Kids share their daily lives with their friends who may not have the same ethnic background. The osmosis has begun. This little girl in the photo may be one who shares this very ritual’s meaning with a friend from a different culture.
