I was hired to shoot the holiday celebration for a company in Toronto. They held their event at the Windsor Arms Hotel, a posh location in Yorkville. Old architecture mixed with a great DJ and modern sensibility in style to make an interesting evening. When I first arrived, I saw a very well-composed photo of the main room taken from the second floor.
During the prize draw, I snuck upstairs to try and make my own version of the image I saw in the lobby earlier in the evening. The colour-cast of the lights loaned a natural sepia-like tone to photos taken without a flash, so I tried to make this look like a “classic”.
Hopefully I succeeded.
